In a test conducted by the independent, certified reference laboratory Innovative Bioanalysis, researchers installed iWave technology in an environment that simulated conditions in a commercial aircraft fuselage and then introduced SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) to that test area. The results were definitive:

As air flows past the iWave-R, positive and negative ions actively purify the supply air, killing mold, bacteria and viruses in the coil and living space. The ionization process also reduces allergens, smoke and static electricity, as well as odors (cooking, pet, etc.) and other particles (no more sunbeams) in the air without creating ozone or any harmful byproducts.
iWave uses patented technology, called needle-point bi-polar ionization, to create equal amounts of positive and negative ions. When these ions are injected into the air stream, they break down passing pollutants and gases into harmless compounds like oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and water vapor.
When the ions come in contact with viruses, bacteria or mold, they remove the hydrogen molecules – without them, the pathogens have no source of energy and die. The ions also attach to allergens like pollen and other particles, causing them to band together until they are large enough to be caught by your ventilation system’s air filter, reducing airborne particles that can cause respiratory problems.
