How Knouse Foods saved over $130,000 in one year – Knouse Foods in Peach Glen, PA shopped with Shipley Energy Advisors for their 2015-16 electricity contract and was very impressed with our options for their suppliers. The leading supplier’s price would save them $120,000 over the second-place supplier, but the second-place supplier had the better contract language. Not wanting to see the customer pay a $120,000 premium for what we felt was almost an equal contract, we offered an insurance policy to cover any contract pass-thru charges up to $40,000. Knouse Foods happily accepted and took the better rate.
In month 17 of the contract, there was a regulatory increase that affected all suppliers, charging them with a $13,000 pass-thru. Ultimately, this charge was completely covered by our previously instated insurance policy.
