Students are quickly oriented to the fast paced environment of a full service energy company and given project assignments that fully integrate them to the teams and departments they serve.
We believe Interns should make an impact. Our interns are mentored, work hard, and are held accountable. And at the end of the day, our interns produce incredible work. In fact, more than 35% of our interns are now full-time employees!
The Program is a minimum of 10-weeks long beginning in mid-May and ending in early August. The program is open to undergraduate sophomores, juniors and seniors in all majors attending accredited four-year colleges/universities.

Learn about recruiting, hiring, training, development, safety/environment, benefits and compensation. Attend, participate, and deliver safety and HR training. Develop metrics to improve the organization and prepare materials for on-boarding of new hires.
Acquire general knowledge of the IT operation in all areas of the organization. Become knowledgeable about each function and the impact on all business lines. Assist in response to help desk situations and work with lead web developer to build enhancements to user experience.
Rotate through the wholesale energy division, including sales, purchasing, delivery, credit, and billing. Become proficient with each functional business area and understand quoting and ordering processes. Learn about compliance, risk management, internal control process.
Gain an understanding of finance and accounting functions as it pertains to each business line. Help develop and create budget analysis reporting, review fixed assets, and assist in the migration of ledger systems. Learn internal control policies and procedures.
Become knowledgeable about Shipley Energy operations, brands, and overall marketing strategy. Research, gather information and create on-brand content for publication. Coordinate and assist with all forms of media advertising campaigns and promotions, including web & social media.
