Off-road diesel is designed for heavy-duty equipment and machinery, including tractors and some generators. It’s made for any vehicle or machine that will not travel on public roads. Off-road diesel is sometimes referred to as dyed diesel or red diesel because it’s not clear like on-road diesel.
DEF, also known as diesel exhaust fluid, is for commercial vehicles with diesel engines with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems. It is non-hazardous and made up of 32.5% urea and 67.5% water. DEF limits the nitrogen oxides coming from diesel engines, helping to reduce emissions.
Agricultural operations and farmers use propane gas for heating or powering equipment like forklifts, irrigation systems, and grain dryers. It is a clean-burning fuel that is efficient and often readily available.
